Packard Bell Introduces Compasseo 800 Series GPS Navigation Devices

Packard Bell have emphasized the ease-of-use and compact form factor for the release of their new Compasseo 800 series GPS navigation system. The Compasseo 800 series all have a generous 4 inch, TFT, anti-glare touchscreen. GPS capabilities are powered by the popular 20 channel SiRF StarIII GPS receiver.

The 800 series has a 4 hour battery life for personal navigation use. For car navigation it has a car mounting kit and cigarette lighter adapter. Bluetooth technology is also there for hands-free phone use in the car. Media playback capabilities include MP3, photo and video.

Western European maps come preloaded on an MMC card and navigation software is EasyGuide by Navteq. The 800 series have text-to-speech capability for spoken street names and a special pedestrian mode.

An in-built traffic antenna provides the Campasseo 800 series with traffic reports and automatic rerouting. In France, Germany and the UK, the Compasseo 830 is available with a free, lifetime subscription to Traffic Live Plus, a premium traffic info service that offers even more accurate and faster notification of traffic conditions. Outside these countries Traffic Live Plus uses regular Traffic Live service where available for free.
