It also carries a bonus 12 months warranty for a total of 24 months and almost $200 to $300 savings. There is a sting in the tail however. Mio sells the North American map for a whopping $299 and Europe for $369. This brings the total cost to $1086. The Tom Tom maps can be downloaded for a currently discounted to Australia & New Zealand customers (ends January 31 2008) for an amaxing $79.95 & $99.95 each. This brings the total cost to only $780 with the $600 unit price. The Garmin 660 totals a massive $1218 with the $700 base unit price. In effect the near top of range Tom Tom GO 720 smashes the competition by $308 against Mio and $438 against the Garmin. Enough to potentially by another basic Tom Tom. I know that this comparison is meaningless if you are not going to use the unit in the USA and Europe and the MIO is a fantastic unit at the base price.
