The new Sony Ericsson HGE-100 GPS Enabler plugs into your phone to turn it into your own personal GPS navigation system. According to Sony Ericsson, the HGE-100 is the first personal GPS navigator to be built into a Stereo Portable Handsfree.

Sony Ericsson HGE-100 GPS Enabler

The HGE-100 was announced at the same time as the Sony Ericsson K530 – the first phone to be compatible with it. The HGE-100 is compatible with many recent Sony Ericsson mobile phones with Java support, including the popular K800 Cyber-shotâ„¢ phone.

Navigation with Voice and Text Commands

It doesn’t matter how you are travelling – on foot, cycle, car or bus – plugging in the HGE-100 and switching to GPS mode will give you the directions through the stereo headset or on your phones screen with a graphical, icon-based display. The HGE-100 can save destination details saving your repeating commands. You can search for your destination by address, person, company and even local points of interest.

Tracker GPS Sports Application

The HGE-100 GPS Enabler records training sessions and analyzes performance using the installed Tracker GPS sports application. It will monitor your speed, distance, route and calorie burn, recording and analyze the recorded data so you can monitor your training progress.

Stereo Portable Handsfree

The HGE-100 doubles as a handsfree to control phone calls and music.

The GPS Enabler HGE-100 will be available in selected markets from Q3 2007. For complete compatibility see SonyEricsson.
