July 26, 2007Mio P550 GPS PDA ReviewFrom reviews to date the Mio GPS products impress as value for money. The Mio P550 GPS PDA only reinforces this impression. The unit has the quick and accurate SiRF III GPS receiver, WiFi (802.11b/g), Bluetooth 2.0, a respectable 400MHz processor and 64MB of SDRAM and 2GB of flash ROM. The memory can be added to using the SD/MMC expansion slot which can accept up cards up to 2GB. The Mio P550 has no phone capabilities.
The Mio P550 GPS PDA comes preloaded, ready for use, with TeleAtlas maps of the United States and Canada. Mio’s MioMap is the navigation software. The 3.5-inch, 65k colors, TFT, touch screen with QVGA (240×320 pixels) resolution in one feature which may disappoint some users as a VGA for the 3.5 inch size might have been expected. For the traveler, Mio includes the very useful WorldMate digital assistant software with a free three-year subscription. You can find out more about this software in our Mio H610 Handheld GPS Navigation System review. Mio P550 Included Accessories
