Mio seem to bring out new navigation devices at a prolific rate. This new model, the Mio C728, distinguishes itself with its huge 7 inch QVGA (800 x 480 pixels) TFT LCD touchscreen. Along with the large screen and twin stereo speakers comes a suite of multimedia features for watching movies, view digital photos and listen to MP3s.

The navigation engine is based on the reliable and accurate SiRF Star III receiver which will perform well even in weak GPS signal areas such as built-up city areas.

The Mio C728 will has access to real-time traffic (and weather forecast) information and will plot alternative routes around traffic congestion. The C728’s MioMap navigation software allows you to look ahead along your plotted route, view upcoming Points of Interest (POI) and real-time traffic information simultaneously on a convenient split-screen interface display.

The C728 has Bluetooth for use with other Bluetooth equipped devices such as mobile phones. Also built into the Mio C728 are a USB 2.0 port and a SD/MMC memory card slot.

Navigation maps are preloaded with the C728 so it is ready to go out of the box. If you intend to use it away from the car often an optional AC charger would be a worthwhile purchase. The 1200mAh rechargeable Lithium battery cell, which provide an average usage time of 2.5 hours.
