Zoombak ZMBK200 Advanced GPS Dog Locator Review

The National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy have reported that one in three pets is lost during its lifetime. As their figures also show only a 10 chance of return, it’s likely that the Zoombak ZMBK200 Advanced GPS Dog Locator is an investment that will pay off.

Zoombak ZMBK200 Advanced GPS Dog Locator

The Zoombak GPS Dog Locator continuously determines your dogs location and actively broadcasts its position so that you can recover it quickly before it comes to harm. Also speeding the recovery time is the automated warning that your pet has strayed outside the safe area you have nominate for them. You will know your dog is straying into to danger without having to keep a constant eye on them.

Zoombak uses Assisted GPS technology (A-GPS) for determining position from GPS satellite signals. Cellular technologies provide the communications capability for reporting position. GPS signal strength restrictions mean that the device won’t work indoors. Communications coverage is not available in all locations and can be checked using Zoombak’s coverage map.

Location Checks

There are 3 ways to find out where your dog is if it’s wearing a Zoombak Advanced GPS Dog Locator;

  • Visit and log on to Zoombak.com and use the online tracking facility,
  • Send a text message via mobile phone,
  • Phone customer care for live location support (24 hours, 7 days a week)

Continuous Tracking

It’s possible to have your dog’s location tracked continuously using the map at zoombak.com. For up to an hour (can extend to two hours) your dog’s location can be plotted on the map every 5 minutes with a time and date stamp. It’s a useful feature if you’re trying to recover your wandering dog.

Alerts for Dogs Wandering from their Personalized Safety Zone

The Zoombak Locator allows you to geo-fence (virtual boundary) you dog to a safety zone you outline. Upon exiting an active safety zone your dog sets off an alert which can be delivered by email and/or text message. Up to 10 safety zones can be active at a time. Safety zones can be from 110 to 880 yards radius and can be activated/deactivated manually or to a schedule you define.

To ensure your dogs Zoombak GPS locator is working you can opt to have Zoombak notify you by email and/or text message if the locator is turned off or is running low on battery power.
