iGolf Neo Pocketsize Golf GPS by L1 Technologies Review

The iGolf Neo is the smallest golf GPS device on the market with a small price that’s a new entry price point for the market. A small size does not mean that features have been sacrificed. The iGolf Neo has been made possible by recent size and power reductions achieved by GPS receiver manufacturers reflecting what we have seen with cell phones.

Key features of the Neo match features you will find in other golf GPS devices and include:

  • Displays key distances on the course (front, center, and back of the green)
  • Four custom points per hole can be added
  • Accurate shot distance feature (build up a good knowledge of your average distance with each club)
  • High-contrast LCD screen (80 x 120 pixels)
  • Screen backlight for dim light conditions
  • Long Internal battery life of up to 16 hours

You of course benefit from the natural advantage of GPS not requiring line of sight to measure distance. The iGolf Neo works straight out of the box, but you do need a personal computer and Internet access to download pre-mapped golf courses (subscription required). If you play the same courses you may only need one subscription. The iGolf Neo will hold data for up to 10 courses.

You have to manually advance the iGolf from one hole to another but, handily it does display what hole it thinks you are on as a reminder. There are no diagrams of the hole provided.

In the Box – iGolf Neo

  • USB cable
  • Software CD (for PC)
  • Belt clip
  • Wall socket charger
  • Car Charger
