TeeShot Live GPS Supported Golfing Software

TeeShot Live software for keeping track of your golf game utilizes the built-in GPS support of the iPhone 3G or iPod touch.

Software features include;

  • Review and download course descriptions from TeeShotLive.com and hit the tee in seconds
  • Track your strokes, putts, fairways, clubs, distances, sand saves and more
    Keep score for up to four players each round
  • Check your stats for your current round, or for all of your rounds
  • Compare results on the same hole over time and across all of the courses you play
  • See the distance from your last shot and to the green on courses tagged with GPS locations
  • Email scorecards after a round
  • Upload your rounds to oobgolf.com or USHandicap.com and get an official USGA handicap index

TeeShot Live has a lot of features and some which are not available on other golfing GPS devices as they are not on a 3G phone platform (eg. emailing scores). The device with the most comparable features is the Garmin Approach G5. It should be noted that not all courses downloadable from TeeShot Live have been created by users using TeeShot Live supplied software such as the online course creator.

As with other GPS golfing devices, the only thing hampering this excellent software at the moment seems to be the accuracy limitations of the iPhone GPS receiver (about 10 yards / 9 m). While approaching the green TeeShot Live gives helpful range information however, when close to the tee the GPS accuracy lessens the usefulness.

Version 2.0 of TeeShot Live will be released soon with even more features. Another software product, PracticeTee, has been recently released. It is tailored to assist golfers in learning where the strengths and weaknesses are in their golf game.

TeeShot is available for only $19.99 through the iTunes Application Store or in the AppStore your iPhone or iPod touch.
