Glympse | Personal Location Sharing

Your visiting a large event and the parking is non existent. To save yourself from fraying nerves you decide to drop off the family, find a park and catch up with them. Mobile phones are great but you can end up with conversations like, “Were next to the hot dog vendor. There are at least 20 of those! Can you see the… ? No!”

Glympse | Personal Location Sharing

Sharing our location with those we want using a service like Glympse (demo) is the solution to this sort of problem. All you need are phones with built-in GPS receivers (or better yet a hybrid positioning application), web access and your problem is solved. With hardware solutions like the CSR9000 promising a big upswing in location aware handsets, we will soon be wondering how we ever got on without such services.
