Golf GPS Devices Comparison

Their growing popularity seems proof that golfing GPS devices make an improvement to the game of those using them. The variety of features amongst the various devices available confirms that it is still an emerging product.

Garmin Approach G5 Golf GPS

The Callaway uPro impresses with its small size and light weight. The satellite photo realistic, high resolution course imagery of its ProMode is the most impressive looking of those reviewed. The video flyover preview is certainly unique and attention grabbing.

Garmin’s Approach G5 has the flexibility and utility of a touch screen interface which also happens to be the largest with the highest resolution. The course maps come a close second for detail behind the Callaway uPro. The IPX7 waterproofing and free map downloads are certainly attractive selling points.

Other devices compared have reasonably solid feature coverage with some unique attributes as well. The usefulness of the ground contour information supplied by the SkyCaddie SG5 may be a winning feature for some golfers. As may be the multiple language support of the Sonocaddie V300.
