Combined with the traffic receiver are free lifetime traffic updates to ensure real-time traffic information is available to help avoid traffic congestion. Other key features include Bluetooth for hands-free calling, highway lane assist and the built-in AAA TourBook.

The Magellan RoadMate 3055 is identical to the flagship RoadMate 3065 model apart from the lack of Traffic Wake-up and Periodic Reporting. Traffic Wake-up turns on the RoadMate 3065 twice a day 30 minutes before a pre-determined commute to gather traffic information and be ready to calculate the optimal route for the given traffic conditions.
